I've tried just about everything, and Bootcamp assistant appeared to work, but windows 10 failed to advance with the dreaded "selected disk is of the GPT partition style" error.
On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks. Also, it may not hurt to try formatting the partition again. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. And based on other users' experience, it never will.
Also, after finding a solution, please make sure to mark your post using the "edit solved status" (or "flair") button. 2.
