In the spring of 1938, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy had just opened its doors and was in need of textbooks. It was this need that prompted our company founder, Felix Cornell, to publish quality maritime textbooks. It was this original venture with which Cornell Maritime Press, a world-renowned maritime publisher, was established.
