Written permission is required to reprint or reproduce material from Cornell Maritime Press/Tidewater Publishers’ books. Please read ALL of the following information carefully.

Requests to use material from books published by Cornell Maritime Press/Tidewater Publishers, should include the following information:

  • Title and author of our book and intended use of copyright material. If the material will be used in another published work, please include the following:

    • Practical texts for the merchant mariner and the maritime industry.
    • Title and author of your book
    • Your publisher’s name
    • Format of your book (hardcover, softcover, etc.)
    • Territory of distribution for your book (U.S., North America, world, etc.)
    • Print run (total number of copies to be printed)
    • Publication date of your book
    • Price of your book
  • Your complete postal address and e-mail address

  • We cannot accept requests by telephone, fax, or e-mail. Please allow enough time for your request to be handled. It may take four to six weeks or more for a response, which will be sent by mail. Do not submit duplicate requests.
  • For educational photocopying (portions of text for U.S. university and college course packs and classroom handouts) contact the managing editor.
  • Requests to photocopy entire out-of-print books for educational purposes may be sent to the managing editor.
Requests for foreign/translation rights, film/television, dramatic performance, magazines/newspapers, reprint, and audio rights should be made to the managing editor at 410-758-1075 or 1-800-638-7641.
