Cornell Maritime Press/Tidewater Publishers is accepting submissions for:
- How-to manuscripts for the fisherman, hunter, or outdoorsman.
- Practical texts for the merchant mariner and the maritime industry.
- Nonfiction for adults, focusing on a cultural aspect of Maryland, the Delmarva Peninsula, or the Chesapeake Bay region.
- Regional adult fiction and mysteries.
- Young Adult books for boys and girls. Submissions must have protagonists who are funny without being cruel. Graphic novels accepted. Must have Chesapeake/Maryland regional slant. Series considered.
We are expanding our outdoor and leathercraft lines, and are particularly interested in books on fishing, hunting, cooking, knots, and leatherwork. Any submissions outside of this focus will not be reviewed or returned. The following items must be submitted for consideration:
- Proposal letter with:
- a short summary of the work;
- the page count of the final manuscript and the number of illustrations, if applicable; and
- the intended audience and size of the audience.
- A detailed table of contents.
- A complete manuscript.
- A current curriculum vitae with a list of all prior publications.
- A suggested marketing plan.
